The Presence of In-Between
Aug 26, 2025
There was a time when "in-between" put me into survival mode.
Transitions make so many of us uncomfortable. They're not here, nor there. Not camp, but not yet school, either. No longer menstruating, but still counting toward mikvah. Feeling your period coming, but it’s not quite here yet.
Tasting the last licks of summer as autumn gracefully ripples across the trees.
We like feeling solid. Defined lines.
The in-between is no man's land (literally, it's the feminine void) and it can feel like being uprooted before finding ourselves again.
Why, that is, in fact, exactly what Elul is, too. When everything we knew and felt secure with crumbled in Av, stripping the leaves to our barest naked essence.
Teshuvah is about the return to ourselves.
That's the only way we truly come to know our Creator.
We're always in the in-between. On the road to becoming. After all, this life is but a passageway.
But what if we lived each day as a destination? Right here, right now. Just as we are.
Like the name Hashem revealed in exile: "I Am What I Am."
Change will always come.
Change will always move you.
There will be a million in-betweens.
But who are you in your rootedness, your presence, your truth?
Who are you coming home to - inside yourself?
The cycle is the embodied promise of "this too shall pass." A phase is just a phase. But are we just trying to push past it to get to the other side...
…or can we lean in?
Can we let this phase shape us?
Can we allow the discomfort, the not-yet, the unknown - to be a place we can be… instead of something we try to escape?
Transitions aren’t problems to solve - they’re portals to new worlds. They’re where we are most of the time, if we’re honest.
And this is where so much of our becoming actually happens - not after the transition, but within it.
We don’t have to wait for things to settle before we show up.
Every day holds something. Every moment is part of it. Even the ordinary ones. Even the messy ones.
So let’s stop waiting for the “next big thing.”
Let’s be here. With ourselves. With what’s true today.
And let that be enough.
P.S. The Embodied course is coming back really soon. It will now only be offered once a year - a 3-month experience to fully establish and integrate your fertility awareness practice with confidence.
I teach the Fertility Awareness Method as a grounded, embodied practice. You’ll learn to chart accurately (for conception, contraception, and health), and know exactly what’s happening in your cycle. But most of all, you’ll reconnect with your body from the inside out. This is about more than just tracking - it’s about trust, rhythm, and deep self-knowing.
If you're curious about joining, make sure you’re on the waitlist - the waitlist-only pre-sale will open for a short 5-day window in September, and I won’t be sharing it anywhere else.
